Update about the upgrade:

We found the source of the problem that was preventing some worlds from working and rolled out a workaround which we'll use until we can develop a proper fix for the problem we discovered. All worlds should now start, possibly even faster than before, but the workaround may cause them to experience significant lag for a few minutes until they are fully started on the server. We aren't happy with this interim solution but it's better than having some worlds not start at all. We hope to resolve this problem soon. Please know it's our top priority to do so.

I upgraded the Firestorm viewer to it current newest version today because I couldn't get in to Kitely and had the time, but I don't have Chrome and never will. I hate Chrome!! last night while I slept Microsoft Explorer did an update on version 11 but I will not ever have Chrome. I'll try your alternate log-in after I finish my work but don't have time to try it now. The no script running thing has been happing on my world for months, and my Partner spoke to both of you about it a long time ago and you were unable to fix it. Should I move my world? I didn't have a script problem while it was in the other location.

This isn't a top of the list to do thing, It just makes it hard on my group, and for perspective SL merchants that I'm trying to convince to move to Kitely or Kitely MP. I was lucky my most recent convinced SL merchant scripter Handy's Tools didn't mind working in the Kitely Builders Sand box. Good Luck on the major rollout problem and let me know on the other--but no rush put out the major fires first then concentrate on the little ones:) Thanks

Hi Barnard, please check the script issue again. Kitely is now running OpenSim 0.7.6 which should resolve many script-related problems that existed in OpenSim 0.7.4.

Good luck, both of you. Thank you for all the work you do.

I hadn't been having any problems logging into Kitely since the upgrade "completed" - until now. Suddenly the logon fails at the "waiting for region handshake" phase.
Is more maintenance currently underway?

I'm very happy seeing materials starts working :) For now however it doesn't allow me to apply my own normal map texture (exactly as if allows, but doesn't show changes). It allows options from list.

Hi Deuce,

Kitely is currently using a workaround that solves some problems we found after we rolled out the update and creates others (the update included database migrations so is not easy to roll back and therefore required this type of hack on our live system). We're working to replace this hack with a proper fix. Until this is done, if you get such region handshake messages then please try entering a world that is already active (e.g. the Kitely Welcome Center). Alternatively wait 10 minutes then try entering the same world again.

As a personal workround to this and the browser breaking the plug-in (which, by the way, really shows just how slick that plug-in made things), I've set Kitely Welcome Center to Home, log in directly from Firestorm, then use the Kitely website to find the world I want to go to.

It took me a few tries to convince Firestorm to connect directly to KWC, but once I did everything seems okay. I've set the KWC arrival point as home for the time being.

I guess one good thing about all this is that KWC will be more likely to be populated when new folks show up for the first time. ;)
