Hi Roxy ...warm welcome to Kitely! :P

Kitely is a very nice place to be if you want to unleash your creative senses. Space and ressources for building are huge and the community is progressing as well.
Don't get concerned about traffic too much ... Kitely is different in that respect from SL as many are busy with their projects and builds. :?
If you want company .. just step by at one of the first regions in the "Explore World" page. People usually like a god chat - at least I do (allway good for an excuse to interrupt my scripting).

And: ... if there are attractive events people will show up ... :!:
it's just a matter of beating the drums and use the announcing systems for letting them know about it and to get the folk's attention.

I agree everyone here is very helpful and friendly! cheers all :D

I am totally new to SL and kitely. I joined SL only last month... kinda tuned in that the grid is more open and found kitely to be the most interesting community incl these forums.

I'm an Aussie so the timezone is not the best to meet people. I haven't any experience in building mesh or avatars or opensim scripts but I can code and make a few things in 3D CAD...

look forward to learning more about the opensim programming aspects and hopefully help some people build a little island, ideally I'd like to try setup some sort of teaching inworld lectures or talks on engineering, technology, programming, 3D gfx in gaming, or just any old applied maths incl sports sims (i'm into kitesurfing)... more broadly the whole FOSS debate interests me too...

nice to meet you all :)

PS. my youtube has a few random clips of windsurfing, kitesurfing, an opengl concept in OGRE, and most recently a retro game review http://www.youtube.com/skinduptruk

Hello all!
It is great to be here in Kitely and I am excited about the adventures that await me here. :) I am not new to SL or Opensim, but this is now the only account in the 'verse being used by me. It is feels literally like having a small suitcase, a map of the world and positive thoughts to run on.

I have already grabbed a fixed rate region but will likely be jumping up to Premium account after the incredible support I was given with a request I made to Ilan. I am floored by the spirit of respect here. 8-)

At this point I am getting my feet wet. I am not a good builder, I like to play around in Paint Shop pro and I hope to contribute any way I can here. I also made a google+ with my Baz Nadoda. I am not sure how to write it in a way that one can add me because I am new to google+. Please feel free to add me though if you like.

Please feel free to poke me with sticks, tar and feather me or whatever twisted custom you have here for the newbies. I like twisted!

I am Henry and I just join kitley forum and after reading some forum members comments on intro page I must say that Kitley members are very cooperative.

Hello Henry. :) Welcome to Kitely.

I am fairly new here as well, but your observation about Kitely members is spot on. Every person I have met so far has been helpful and friendly. I hope you enjoy yourself here.
