Something completely different for me.

New Meta City is a modern/futuristic modular city.

It's a simple, fun build. Nearly 15,000 plain old prims but 0 scripts and the only textures are Linda Kellie's window and planter textures and the Blank texture for everything else, so it loads right up!

It's meant to be viewed and experienced. The buildings are empty, you can access the ground floors but that's it. It's fun to walk or cam around but try flying...fly up and down the streets just above ground level. Also try going up to about the fifth floor level and fly all around. :)

Set the time to Midnight for best experience. (Although friends have told me it's fun to play with your sky settings and snap a pic or two.)

Although it is presented as an exhibit, I can see some practical use for this sim. With or without some minor mods, this could make a great shopping center* or a club venue.

I'll probably blog about this place and give some background on how it came about. You can look at some photos on flickr - but believe me, you can't get the feel of New Meta City from pictures, you have to go there!

Enjoy!

* of course, it could only be considered for use as a shopping center in OpenSim....in Second Life it wouldn't work - no prims left for the items on sale! In SL, I wouldn't even have attempted this build.

I will most certainly add the OAR to my collection if you decide to share it. I find it quite interesting.

I highly recommend a visit and playing with sky settings for pictures:) I feel like we need to have a car chase scene there...or maybe sci fi speeders? Daniel Hoffman and I agreed it has a bit of a Tron feel so maybe lightcycles?

I would *REALLY* like this oar, it has uses in the virtual Seacouver I'm making from Highlander. I started with Linda Kellie's business center oar, but that was 17K prims
