When you look back over this past year, you can see just how much has been added to or improved in Kitely -- Evergreen Island, the new KWC, the volunteer greeter board (and the volunteers themselves!), events being publicised on the log-in screen and via the inworld Kitely Community group -- plus a substantial increase in the number of events being held by community members. It wasn't until I started listing them like this that I realised how much had been done in just the last twelve months.

It is very important that the people who enjoy our service support us in this survey. The annual Hypergrid Business surveys have had a real impact on the growth of the grids that have done well in them in the past. Many people read these surveys and make their decision on which grid to call home based on them.

Yes, I wish they would do some actual objective analysis of each grid. This could be done a couple ways:
a) give out free devices to sim owners that adds their sim to a hypergrid-wide sim directory, and at the same time collects data on up-time, sim performance (lag, script time, physics dilation, and traffic of each sim.
b) have a programmed bot that spider crawls every sim in every grid regularly, which can collect the above info as well as the number of objects on sale, collect pricing info, land on sale, pricing and other data on that, etc.
Without some objective data, the HGB surveys are really more about how effective each grid is at putting effort into getting users to filling out the surveys, and how many people read or care about HGB's opinion....

Done. I suspect Kitely will do well in this one, thanks to all the improvements Dot mentioned.

I think the BIG outstanding issues for new people in Kitely are:
1. the starter avatars and
2. how do I get around to visit places and
3. where can I get help

From my time as a Greeter at the KWC, these are the big three. Speaking of which we need more greeters, so if you're just going through your inventory or something, think about sitting at KWC and greeting folks as they arrive.

I am happy to help, I will go on in the morning for an hour or so, this will be afternoon your time. I would like to make up a starter kit, with some free hair, skins etc, posing stand, change room (changing in sandbox).

I completed the survey as well and according to a tweet from Maria, Kitely leads with 10 respondents. Obviously a lot more people will fill this out. I would love to see more respondents from all grids this year, thus showcasing that OS is alive and well and prospering.
