At the recent OpenSim Developers Open House meeting, Ubit demonstrated a new OSSL function called osNpcLookAt
This function sets up an NPC so that it turns to look at another object, and keeps turning to look at the object even if it moves.
Apparently the code to do this with avatars was already in place and Ubit says it was an easy addition to OpenSim.
This is an incredible feature that could make NPCs look much more lively. Imagine a security guard NPC that turns to keep their eyes on the nearest avatar walking by. The theater and machinima people at the meeting were excited to use this for their stages.
So, if it is really as easy as Ubit says to add this to 0.9.2, can we get this function added to Kitely some time soon?

Re: New NPC Look-At feature
Hi Kayaker,
If it's part of OpenSim 0.9.2 then we'll incorporate this soon as we're currently in the process of integrating various patches from OpenSim 0.9.2 in order to support EEP.
