Re: Worlds End Landscaping & Roleplay

Post by Ozwell Wayfarer »

This week I began the process of expanding my range of ultra-realistic mesh trees. Each tree type will soon be available in Summer, Autumn and Winter variants, and also as a 4 season fat pack. Originally, these sets came with just one summer and two autumn texture variations, but I have broken this down and expanded the colour range to enable my customers to get much more variation within each season. The price per individual pack has also come down from $12 to $8.

Each tree has been created using a special technique to minimize the flat "panel effect" most trees suffer from in virtual worlds. They cast realistic canopy shadows. They do not appear as "blobs" while loading and to cap it all off, each tree is just 1 prim. You need to see these trees in-world at my showroom to fully appreciate them.

The trees also now come with materials to give the bark and foliage greater 3D depth. Please note trees with materials are NOT currently in my showroom. I need to update them.

First releases - Elms and Oaks

Also, a note for customers who have previously purchased some of these trees.

As the original sets contain 1 summer and 2 autumn variations, you may choose either the summer or autumn pack for re-delivery. Please PM me with your choices as each tree is updated. Customers who do not notify me of their preference by the time I finish updating the range will automatically be given the summer pack by default.

Thanks, Ozwell. That is very fair of you.

My preference would be for the autumn packs.

Here is a short preview video for my upcoming River and Stream Set. The video demos the light-reactive qualities of the water, now possible thanks to the support of materials. The set has various straights, curves, slopes and waterfalls allowing you to make realistic overland water easily!

This is also my first youtube video ever. So go gently please :).

Material Rivers are out today! :D

Create realistic overland water easily with my new set of 10 meshes. The most realistic "artificial" water available anywhere.

Edit - Just a note, but due to technical issues, i decided to make waterfalls a separate release. Sorry if this disappoints some folks, but it means that ultimately you will get much more variation and choice for your waterfalls, so its not all bad :).

...for the waterfalls? :) sorry  . lol

The reason for this is because you cant manually alter the texture repeats of an animated texture. So scaling the object will cause the texture resolution to look stretched and unsatisfactory. So now I have to make a few pre-made sizes with the texture repeats already set.

I thought on it and I feel a bit mean releasing them separately, as its not enough extra to really be worthy of a separate release, so I will just send them as an update.

But I also have 13 houses, 3 modular dungeon kits and my first castle to release......so when in among all that it will get done is anyone's guess.

If anyone is desperate for a waterfall, just PM me and I will send you over the prototype that I have currently as a place holder. Cant say fairer than that :D .

That's very nice of you Ozwell. Can't complain about an update, so I'll guess I'll just be patient. :)

At some indeterminate moment in time, my store recently passed $2000 in sales (including KC), and I have been operating in Kitely for just over a year.....I opened this thread on Sun Sep 29, 2013. So somehow it seems like a sort of sketchy anniversary for me :) I am not very good with remembering Birthdays, even my own.

I wanted to say a real heartfelt thank you to all my customers and everyone at Kitely for supporting me in this first year. As I love giving a little back, I have just made two new freebies available at the Worlds End In-World Showroom.

Now not only can you pick up free Autumn Forest Textures, Free Snow textures with Materials, but also.....

FREE WATERFALLS AND A FREE WOODLAND TABLE!!!!! WOOO! :D

Image

The table is a natural design. A halved trunk serves as a lengthy table while various (detachable) stumps make up the seating. It is not scripted.

The waterfalls come in 3 texture variations (contained withing the waterfall you receive), and also with a rock with a foam/spray particle effect. Those who have purchased my Material Water/River set can add these to that set and use the scripts and textures provided in that set to tweak the waterfalls to suit. As mentioned in previous posts, you might have problems if you scale them too big or small, but if it becomes a problem just contact me directly and I will figure something out for you.

Everything is Full Perm and Exportable!

So thanks again folks and enjoy!
