I've had an increasing number of random IMs from new people who can't figure out how to search worlds. I suppose they are used to SL and the viewer search.
I know we have signs around the WC land point, but I'm not really sure people read them. Perhaps something as simple as a welcome bot that posts it in chat and/or drops a notecard or something like that would work?

Re: Better way to direct people to search page
Thank you for the feedback Roswenthe.
The websearch tab (the default search tab which is opened when people press CTRL-F in Firestorm) can be used to search for both people and worlds. It even includes images of the worlds it finds. See: http://www.kitely.com/virtual-world-new ... ed-search/
We considered notecard givers and automated greeters but those were considered very annoying by people who repeatedly visit the welcome center.
