Unable to sell regions/estates - deed to group

Post by Moggs Oceanlane »

I purchased an advanced world (16 estates, 120,000 prim/prim equiv/80 avatars) under the new pricing conditions. I've only joined Kitely recently and the premium accounts are no longer available.

I want to be able to sell some of my estates in my world to friends/family so that they can manage the land but they do not seem to be able to purchase land when I set it for sale (they are also new to Kitely and also have joined since the removal of premium accounts) - I like to invite friends to join me in my exploration of new worlds :)

I have tried to "sell" two regions of my world - with the first one, I ended up getting the other resident/av to create a group and then I set land to group - that seems to be working but ideally, I would like them to "own" the land in the same way people can purchase Second Life private regions/parcels (with any rental/tier payment arrangements being negotiated between the purchaser and world/estate owner under).

I'm presuming that the inability to sell land (or hand over control/management to an estate/region/parcel via a sale) is having issues due to the recent changes in how Kitely avatar accounts and land works. Eg. I wonder if the removal of premium accounts has affected the ability to buy/sell land for those who have come later who do not/cannot have a premium account.

This isn't a deal breaker or urgent as the group work around is ok for now but it would be great if someone can offer any support or advice. I am new to KItely so it's quite possible that my issues are due to user ignorance/user error rather than a system issue or error.

Thanks!

Yes, Pixellada answered here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2748

Hopefully Ilan will discuss the other issues.

And welcome to Kitely both of you :)

Thanks Nimil and Graham. I'll continue this conversation in Nimil's post.

Update... the answer to my original question (for others who may come here looking for solutions)

- do not set land for sale.
- have person you want to "sell" land to create a group that will be associated with their land
- they will initially need to add you as a co-ower of the group and will either need to [tempoarily] allow members to deed land to group or will need to set yo as a co-owner (keep in mind that once an owner, that you will need to remove yourself from the owner group - if appropriate - owners cannot remove/demote one another, owners can only remove/demote themselves)
- once you are a member of the group, set land to the group that will become the "land owner"
- hit the deed button to deed the land to group (if you do not see this button, relog and give it up to 15 minutes... if you still don't see it, logout... get a beverge, take a bathroom break and relog again and see if it is there. It may take up to 30 minutes.
- the owner of the group/the group should now be able to manage region/parcel permissions via their group
- if you have allocated the group a region, you may (or may not) wish to add the group owner as a manager of the region/estate.
