Login failed. Could not authenticate your avatar...
Hi there. Brand new computer today so maybe I'm doing something wrong (as Kitely is fine on my other computer). I did download Firestorm from Kitely's Documentation page. I tried using my user name with @ Kitely as well and no dice. Can you please help me with any suggestions? Thanks much.

Hi Pip,
Did you make sure to downloaded the OpenSim-compatible version of Firestorm for your new computer (instead of the SL-only one)?
Please see: https://kitely.atlassian.net/wiki/displ ... ual+Worlds
Assuming you did, then make sure Kitely is selected as the grid, enter your avatar name (without the @Kitely - that is added by the viewer later), go to https://www.kitely.com/virtual-world/Il ... ome-Center, press the Enter World button then press the Login button in Firestorm.

Thanks Ilan. I have: Firestorm 4.6.5 (40833) May 5 2014 05:11:40 (Firestorm-Release) with OpenSimulator support.
Not sure why but it's still not working after multiple attempts (user name only (no @ Kitely), password and Kitely as the grid). I'll keep working at it. Will let you know if I'm still not able to login.

What is the exact error message you're getting Pip?

Login Failed. Could not authenticate your avatar. Please check your username and password. To change your password, click on "Show viewer login details" in the Settings page: https://www.kitely.com/settings.

I forget the fine detail but I think it's telling you to login to the Kitely website and then change the password so it's the same as the one in the viewer. Usually works for me.

Interesting why it needed that change but it worked. Thank you!

The grid password and the website password can be different and are set in different places in the Settings page. Is it possible you had changed the website password after you had logged into the viewer and set it to remember your password? If so, then the viewer on your old computer would have had the unchanged grid password while you were probably trying to login to the grid on your new computer using your newer website password.

Yikes, who knows. Thanks Graham and Ilan. Much appreciated.
