Hey Minethere,

I think what you are doing is great for the community and it illustrates the real need for an around-the-clock greeter program in the Plaza and in Kitely Worlds.

I advertise about Kitely all over the internet. Many folks click my links and come check Kitely out. I received an offline message from the plaza yesterday:

Who knows if Yazmin ever connected with anyone. With the greeter HUD Dennis is developing, a greeter will know to make contact with Yazmin as soon as they could and show her where the fun is in Kitely.

And hopefully a lot of that fun will be right there in Kitely Plaza once the volunteer event team is assembled.

ty-)) I just happen to have the time and desire, to do my own small part to help.

As I often say tho, I do not like schedules for myself, so being a part of a scheduled type greeter group is out for me.

This way I do things has actually caused me to not help in one grid, in particular, as they like to have control and errant helpers does not appeal to them to much [tho they say differently]. I hope that I can continue to do my own thing in my own way in this regard here, if things change, that is fine also...-)))

I have also noted in several grids the mentor programs tend to have many issues that do not appeal to me.

This does not mean I have any problem at all with others doing as they wish, in anything....lol

Overall, my over-riding concern is to use the principles embedded in KISS which is an acronym for two phrases I like...

keep it short and sweet and keep it simple stupid...hehehehehe

Overall I think you, Blady, have ur heart in the right place here, and it is good for Kitely, which is in turn good for the Metaverse, imo-)))

I agree with that. I think it is because the mentors traditionally do not have anything more to do than stand around and be bossy. I hope to develop the mentor program here where the coordinate certain activities like designing the Instructor Program, developing recognition ceremonies for the greeters and use of the social areas in Kitely Plaza.

Well, I am in the Plaza doing my thang now...I will likely be around an hour or so.

I prefer Greeters name to Mentors...tho I suppose it is really the same thing...but names, have value...lol

Leighton Marjoram came in, didn't answer my hello and moved on quickly.

Joao Bobao is a Portuguese guy who I gave a copy of my translator to and we had a nice talk. Savino dropped in to help also. I im'ed ilan and blady to see if they had the time to drop in as he mentioned teaching Portuguese.

ok, I met Marion Mill from Finland and i gave her my translator. She is also from sl but ready to make a change she says.

I gave her a bit of information and suggested she post here for further help. We went to my region for a while and had a nice time-))

She said if she had not met someone there she would likely have just left...sooooo

ok, well, issues in another grid so I figured to myself, I said, "self?"

and myself answered, "yes, I am busy, what do you want you goofball nuisance?"

so I said, "you don't have to be rude about it, gosh"

myself said, "just say what you need to say and move on"

so I said, "let's just go do our greeter hanging out duty in Kitely"

myself said "alrighty then, let's go!!"

I said, "yippeee!!"
