Sim statistics update frequency

Post by Lunk Portal »

Hey everyone!

I like having the region stats to look at, but don't want to be ridiculous with the updating. How often should a script poll the stats? I'd like it to be accurate without being a drain on resources.

Thanks!

Hi Lunk,

Are you referring to the stats on your world's World Page or inworld?

On my server at home, but I would like to keep it on my in-world if it is not too much of a drain.

Depending on what you check between once per second to once per 30 seconds. I suggest you run tests on your hardware and see how it affects CPU usage in an empty region and in one that has a lot of other scripts running. If it increases CPU usage by more than 0.1% then you're checking too frequently.
