X free hours to use exclusively in your metered world or can you visit other worlds?

That overcomes one of the difficulties I've heard expressed by several: What is the point of having a free region if you can't set it up inworld without buying KC?

You can always visit other people's worlds that are open to you Graham, that's part of the main changes - the removal of time from the equation when you visit other people's worlds.

As pointed out by others in this thread the plan change works out in my favor, so no complaints here. I'm not surprised or suspicious because every plan change I've been through since joining Kitely has been more than fair. There are no hidden catches or agendas here. Kitely is a business and as such needs to make a certain income. I've never seen any indication that they want to do that at the expense of their customers. In fact, they generally bend over backwards to try to accommodate us.

Not to confuse things further, but I do have a question. I vaguely remember this being broached before and rejected, but I can't remember why. Maybe the circumstances have changed with the new plans? Is there any reason that people who want to have events, but can no longer collect KCs through the Kitely plans/interface, can't sell tickets for KC's/and or USD through the marketplace?

Thanks Ilan. I either missed that one or skimmed over it too quickly.

I think Ener's scaling back http://iliveisl.com/kitely-pay-as-you-play-changes/

update: I find the blog ambiguous in some respects. Ignore the above interpretation.

I, too, have been very happy with Kitely and will continue to use it as my "go to" grid for developing and spending most of my time. The price is right and I jumped on the Gold Plan for now only because it is a heck of a deal. It will be easy enough to back up to another plan, if I so decide, once all the new pricing details emerge. My plans are evolving as time goes by but this will at least keep my options open for now. Ilan and Oren have been incredible over the past year and I look forward to a great 2014. Christmas is a pretty much a non-issue here in Thailand but Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everybody who is celebrating!

I've spent the last couple of months checking out options, and in my opinion, Kitely is the best deal out there.

One of the main issues I've had is that it is difficult to get people to give it a try because the concept of minutes and having to pay for time in world has scared/confused them. I think the changes to the plans will help this situation out a lot as it makes that mostly invisible to those on the Regular Free accounts. Yes, somebody somewhere is probably paying for their time in world, but it shifts that from the casual user to those that create and hosts worlds. The cost is still far cheaper than SL, and I think there has to be a free option to bring decent population numbers to the grid.

I do wonder if having the free sim for the regular accounts might not do more to confuse them than help, but I can see it as being a gateway drug to turn them into paying customers, "The first one is free".

I do plan on grabbing one of the grandfathered unlimited plans this week. Honestly, I doubt that I need it, but I want to hold onto the option until I see what the alternatives are. It would be nice to know what the future options will be before I make that decision, but overall it is still cheap enough to make it worth my while to gamble on it.

I've been really impressed with Ilan and Oren's accessibility and responsiveness, and with the general direction they are taking things.

Here is to seeing a great 2014 for Kitely and the Community.
