How to rent out parcels in Kitely?

Hi Minethere,

Kitely's Restore World function does more than what the standard load OAR function does. If possible, our system tries to retain various settings so that you won't have to redefine them if you export a world, modify the build outside Kitely then reimport that build into Kitely.

It seems like there is some (growing) demand for a rental box system that works in Kitely.

I'd like to rent houses and parcels to premium members on metered worlds. I would like to be paid in KCs.

Anybody working on such a thing?

@ Danko.. I have set some mall stores for rent using a free rental script. Nothing fancy but it allows to configure a rental amount, store name, the tenant can add time by paying to the box even while his rent is still not due and it sends reminders 3 days before the rent expires, also as offline IM. The owner can reset or release the rental box. Send me a message if you would want to have it.

About not being able to purchase a parcel:
If the region it's Mature or Adult rated and the buyer has not adjusted his ratings in his Viewer, he won't be able to purchase a parcel, as the default rating in the viewer it's set to PG. Let the buyer check his rating.

Thanks for the proposal Isis - however:

The rating of the region and the parcel is general ..so this is not the reason that the parcel selling doesn't work. I assume that the parcel selling option is not working in Kitely - or has anyone managed to get parcel selling working?

It is my understanding that parcel selling doesn't work in OpenSim, period. It definitely does not work on Kitely. I plan to just deed the rental properties to a group and then make the tenants members of that group with rez rights.

You obviously are right with Kitely - for Opensim I found at least this thread showing that it is possible in principle:

Anyway if Kitely cannot or doesn't want to go down this path it's fine with me - it's just one more element missing to help attracting more players with community & social life in mind when considering Kitely as alternative to SL for them.

to add to the previous post:
Had a chat with Isis on the topic of parcel selling ...
learned that this option is established in a number of OpenSim grids but must be enabled /installed by the grid-owner.

We should get Ilan's perspective on this. I don't think it would hurt the pricing system of Kitely at all.
In contrary it would help providing choices and attractivity for potential "social players" (who are not coming to Kitely so far) and thus helping with traffic and market sales.
