Banner ad discussion: "calls to action" (text only)

At the Kitely Mentors Group meeting on 1 May, the following was decided:
  • The focus should be on material to fit in the 728x90 pixels and 160x600 pixels ads. The top banner is the most prominent, and has room for two short lines of text at most.
  • The text needs to be decided first (the purpose of this thread), and from that the graphics should flow (in a later forum thread).
  • The text should be a call to action rather than just a slogan (which Kitely already has: "Virtual Worlds on Demand").
  • A call to action requires the reader to do something, for example "Get L for M", "You want P, do Q", "Do X, get Y" -- so it might include words like "get", "make", "build".
I'll trawl through the various previous threads and discussions for ideas that might be tweaked and refined to fit these requirements and add them, for convenience to this thread.

----------------------
Note from Ilan: this thread will be moderated. All off topic posts will be moved to another thread so we can maintain focus and quickly finish the task at hand.

Thank you Dot, I hope the group can focus on finding several good call to actions so we can quickly move to the next step (graphic design in another thread).

This one would have to be attached to a blog post about the marketplace so merchants understand what the propgram is. Then a link in the merchant blog post page going to the registration page.

First, some notes from Ilan:
High-resolution logo: http://forums.kitely.com/viewtopic.php?p=2033#p2033

I think the idea of using a value proposition with an action item and adding prices that are very attractive compared to what SL residents are used to can drive people to click the ads. (http://forums.kitely.com/viewtopic.php?p=2038#p2038)

Kitely's main draw for people is being able to own a lot of land for their project without paying a lot or losing their connection to SL.

The above is a long list. Let's see if we can start to winnow it down.

Please look through the list and maybe pick out (and/or tweak) five that you think will attract people's attention. There's no need to comment on other people's choices -- just say what you think at this stage, please.

The key thing is that each must have a clear, obvious call for action for the reader to do something (like the Kitely home page has "Get your own virtual world").

Taking a couple from the list...

They're your worlds, make them what you want
Two regions, 100k prims each, 30 hours, $5 a month

I would simply this further: Your Worlds, Your Way ...capitalizing each word. Unless somebody is already using this. When you get to the landing page, you emphasize that with 100,000 prims you can do it your way.

Buy one, get one free
Get TWO 100k prim regions for just $5 a month

"Buy one, get one free" is a tried and tested slogan. But to apply it to virtual worlds is to knock one's socks off. Somebody in SL or Open Sim who doesn't know of Kitely's prices and sees that, they're gonna say, "Wow!" and will have to click to get the details. They might even feel it is urgent to check it out right away because they might assume this is a special, limited-time only offer. When they find out it's the regular price, they are going to give serious thought to signing up.

Thanks, Danko. I've just tried googling variants of "Your Worlds, Your Way": 8 results only each time, all related to Minecraft, some for what looks like an abortive offer of server hosting, others for videos of a Wedge mod. (I've never played Minecraft so I don't know what is involved.) Whether that counts as "somebody already using it", I'm not sure.

And it sounds too much like Second Life's old tagline: "Your World, Your Imagination"
I think it is best to show distinction rather than seeming too much like SL.
