Current Project: Dolly Matrix

Post by Dolly Rotten »

Today, in "things you should never try and do without your own world and AI assistance"... the Dolly Matrix display! 1024 pixels (32 x 32).

It's a work in progress but can already make some pretty sweet colourful noise, with controllable glow and notecard driven custom palettes as well as a glorious random mode. It can also make load and cycle through pictures from punchcards on a notecard.

Next up, a text display that can scroll and whatnot. Still very much all a WIP but I look forward to unveiling it all at some point. :-)

This is the "testcard" for the pallette.
It now also does transitions between punchcard designs.
I think my computer hates me now though, the fan is revving up angrily at times

We've made a cool tool for making the punchcard designs:

The screen display is pretty much finished, just working on a text scroller now. :-)

Honestly I just keep imagining trying to make something like this on my poxy little scrap of SL land and having a bit of a laugh...
